Mydeco has signed a deal with PlayStation to sell virtual furniture on it’s social gaming platform, PlayStation Home. Mydeco is better known for selling furniture for the home in the real world but with virtual goods market estimated to worth around $6 billion they have decided to dip their toe.

It is thought that the majority of their virtual furniture will be on sale for around €1.99 but a sofa based on the lips of icon Marilyn Monroe is thought to cost around €3. PlayStation Home has been available to the public for almost a year and with an ever increasing population of users there is definitely a market for virtual home furnishings for user’s virtual apartments. For mydeco this is a win-win situation, increased revenue from virtual sales and increasd brand awareness when users eventually re-enter the real world.
