The power of music in adverts

Some of the most memorable adverts are the ones with distinctive and well thought music scores. Here are some of favourite adverts with great music scores

1.    Virgin Media, 2009 – The Virgin Media advert with the Mazzy Star track ‘Into Dust’. Extremely thought provoking with great cinematography.

2.    Orange 60 Seconds, 1994 – Simple concept with a famous Philip Glass composition

3.    Cadbury’s Gorilla, 2007 – Re-invented Cadbury’s advertising and a very successful viral piece of marketing, drumming up millions of hits on YouTube. Featured the Phil Collins track ‘In the Air Tonight’

4.     Guinness Surfer, 1999 – Typical Guinness marketing, shot in black and white featuring Leftfields track ‘Phat Planet’

5.    Lexus, 2002 – Featured the track ‘Open Heart Zoo’ written by Martin Grech aged 19
